RESIDENTIAL CONCRETE LEVELING

Residential Void Filling and Slab Stabilization

Fill accessible empty space below intact concrete where loss of support is the main concern.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Signs the slab deserves a closer look.

Concrete can bridge an empty area before it visibly drops. A hollow sound, washout at the edge, or recurring settlement may point to missing support below the slab. Filling the void is different from correcting the cause of the soil loss.

02

03

WHY IT MOVES

Start below the surface.

Concrete usually settles because the support below it changed. North Texas moisture swings and drainage can both play a part. So can disturbed fill.

Erosion and washout

Moving water can carry fine material away from beneath a driveway, patio, or walkway.

Poorly compacted fill

Loose base material can compress and leave a gap below the concrete.

Leaks or drainage failures

A continuing source of water can recreate the void even after support is restored.

THE REPAIR PLAN

How we approach this surface.

01

Look for the source

Visible edges, drainage patterns, plumbing history, and recurring movement help frame the problem.

02

Choose stabilization or lift

The plan distinguishes filling empty space from intentionally changing slab height.

03

Place material in stages

Foam is injected through planned ports while the slab and surrounding areas are monitored.

IS LIFTING A FIT?

Keep the concrete when the concrete is worth keeping.

An estimate should separate settlement from slab failure and explain the limits before work begins.

LIFTING MAY FIT

Look for sound, movable concrete.

  • The slab is intact but has lost support
  • The void can be accessed from the slab or an exposed edge
  • The cause has stopped or can be managed

CONSIDER ANOTHER REPAIR

Some conditions need replacement or more investigation.

  • The slab itself has failed
  • The void is tied to a structural or plumbing emergency
  • The underlying soil requires geotechnical or structural engineering
